The Alteration House

I’m Jackie Niederschmidt-Wolverton, proud owner of Alteration House, where I bring my 24 years of experience in fit and alterations, along with my passion for customer service. I earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Stephens College, where I majored in Fashion Design and Product Development. During my time at Stephens, I stumbled into a job at the only formal and bridal wear store in Columbia, MO, which sparked my love for alterations.

After graduating, I briefly managed Downtown Alterations before moving to Seattle, WA, where I had the privilege of learning exceptional customer service at Nordstrom Product Group. I worked in the Men’s Furnishing Division for Technical Design and later led the Girl’s Division. Throughout the years, as I moved around with my husband, who retired from the U.S. Army, and our two daughters, I continued to apply my skills in various roles. In addition to alterations, I manage multiple investment properties and a full-time career in real estate. My commitment to customer service and attention to detail has always been at the heart of everything I do.

I’m very excited to continue my journey with The Alteration House!

A History of Phydellas

The Alteration House started 35 years ago but under a combination of two sister’s names, who founded it; Phyllis and Della. After 23 years of ownership, the sisters sold the business to Lori Berra who owned it for the past 12 years. In the first month of ownership, I had the pleasure of meeting so many people that have a history with the shop as it has truly been the destination for so many families in the community. I truly can’t wait to continue the great work under a new name - The Alteration House!
